브루스 스프링스틴 노래를 알게 된 것은 필라델피아라는 영화를 통해서였다. 거기서 나오는 배경음악인 streets Of Philadelphia부터였다. 담담하게 진행되는 음악은 영화의 가치를 한껏 올리는 중요한 요소였다. 그 후에 찾아본 그의 음악인 Born to run이나 Dancing in the dark, Born in the USA, Hungry Heart 등 멋진 곡들이 많았다. 스포티파이에서 찾아본다면 그의 베스트만해도 160곡이 넘는다. 

80년대를 락의 전성시대라고 하고 싶은데 미국에서는 그 선두에 선 사람이라고 할 수 있다. 

앨범커버에서 알 수 있듯이 상당히 미국적인 느낌이 들고 그의 뮤직비디오를 보면 미국의 노동계층의 삶을 직접적으로 보여주는 경우도 많다. 미국 사람들이 좋아할 만한 요소들이 가득차 있고 메이드 인 유에스에이가 강했던 시절에 이게 미국이다라는 것을 잘보여주는 음악과 뮤직비디오였다. 그의 많은 곡중에서 좋아하는 곡들은 Born to run, Danging in the dark, Streets of Philadelphia, Hungry Heart, Secret Garden이다.

이 노래들의 공통된 특징은 지금의 후크역할을 하는 메인 멜로디가 강한편이다. 그래서 기억에 많이 남기도 한다. 

그리고 가사. 그의 삶은 잘 모른다. 인터넷에 적혀있는 걸로만 알 수 있다. 왜 이런 가사를 만들었는지 그의 마음속의 불씨는 어떤 종류인지 모르겠지만 아마 현실을 옮겨적고 싶었고 꿈을 적고 싶었을 것이라건 가사를 통해 알 수 있었다.
